“We are the one, the only, the infamous, Just the Tip Band”
Chad

If you’ve stumbled across live music in NYC sometime during the past 12 years, there’s a good chance our paths have crossed. The Tip has played hundreds of bar shows, countless weddings, corporate events, baptisms, county fairs, bar mitzvah’s and other events that we weren’t even invited to. We are New York’s most notorious Party Band.

Have you ever been to a wedding where the grandmother of the bride raps Hypnotize with the band? That happened to us recently. It was awesome. Have you ever seen a drummer spill eight shots of tequila on a disgusting bar tray, then drink the spilled booze from the tray like he was finishing a bowl of soup? Our drummer John does that when we play the Red Lion. It’s gross.

The point I’m trying to make (if there actually is a point) is that you can always count on having a great time when you come to see The Tip. Our happy hour shows throughout NYC are legendary for their 80’s sing-along’s and Michael Jackson dance-off’s. Weddings transform into full-on rock shows, where your relatives race to see who can get the drunkest and sing with the band (Hint: It’s always your crazy Aunt). But underneath all of the silliness, The Tip is a cohesive, professional group of players, with a repertoire and presence that can only come from many years of playing together.
