Who Wants to Go to Detroit with Me and Chad?
We just stumbled across this 600+ mile race from NYC to Detroit taking place in August. Well it’s not really a race, per se, more of an Easter-egg hunt with checkpoints along the way and they give points for style, antics and navigational prowess. And you can use your own car (TIP Van) if you want.
So let’s see, the TIP van gets about 6 mpg, which means about 100 gallons of gas each way (I think Al Gore just fainted as I wrote this). We’d also need 1-2 cases of transmission fluid, 5 lbs of beef jerky, some skittles and an Armageddon-worthy rationing of road sodas. The grand prize is $2K and we would absolutely need to win just to break even. So what I want to know is, who’s coming with us?
